About Ferenc Petho

Fascinated by the versatility and functionality of one of Mankind’s oldest tools, Ferenc studied traditional Scandinavian, Japanese and tribal edged tools while honing his craft at Paprika Knives. His background in engineering, coupled with a desire to design and create something by hand, saw Ferenc also learn arts and crafts that can be incorporated “within a piece of boring old steel” by dabbling in jewelry making, woodworking, carving, metal clay, acid etching, enameling and leather work. Ferenc’s passion for working with knives is fueled by the balance of art and science behind the craft, and driven by the knowledge he is yet to gain on his journey as a knife maker.
