Growing up, my mom loved to entertain family and friends and through that love of entertaining grew my love of food. On the weekends, during the summer, on holidays there was always something going on in my house and no matter if the grill was going or if there was a multitude of dishes going in the oven, food was that one thing that brought us all together. I always thought I was going to be a lawyer, but I could never get rid of that voice inside of me telling me that cooking was my calling. In 2015, I enrolled into the Art Institute of Charlotte International School of Culinary Arts and completely fell in love, but it wasn't until I started working in the industry that I knew for sure this is something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. After leaving culinary school, I began to focus completely on my career and that is where my real education has begun. I feel that as the industry progresses and changes the ideas that I have will contribute in a positive way. In the future, I plan on opening a food truck focused on caribbean cuisine with a modern twist.
