The World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WorldChefs), is a global network of chefs associations, with over 72 official culinary groups currently under its umbrella since WorldChefs was first founded in October 1928 at the Sorbonne in Paris. When the first congress was held, the association started with 65 delegates from 17 countries, representing 36 organizations both nationally and internationally. Famed culinary icon August Escoffier was the first Honorary President of WorldChefs. Today, Charles Carroll, CEC, AAC, and Executive Chef at River Oaks Country Club in Houston is the President of WorldChefs after receiving the honor in 2015. WorldChefs is managed by an elected presidential body and board of continental directors of culinarians, to represent Asia, Europe, Africa, the Pacific and America.
