Discover The flavor Of Chilean Mussel
The Patagonia Mussel brand was created by the Asociación Chilena de Productores y Exportadores de Mussel in order to create a common identity for the Patagonia Mussel, highlighting the country, the origin and the premium quality of its product. Healthy, natural and very high quality Patagonian Mussel – considered to be among the best in the world – are produced in the cold and clear waters of the South Pacific Ocean, where unpolluted waters come up from the Antarctic. Living in icy and extremely pure waters, these small molluscs feed on the excellent natural nutriments found there, which gives them unrivaled flavor and texture.
The Pristine Waters Of Patagonia
Chilean Patagonia is recognized worldwide for being a place of extraordinary natural beauty – each year it welcomes thousands of tourists who enjoy its virgin landscapes, glaciers and revel in typical Chilean cuisine. One of the remotest areas of the Americas and one of its least populated, Patagonian is also characterized for being pollution-free, especially the waters of the Humboldt Current, which are among some of the cleanest in the world. It is here that the Chilean mussel is farmed under strict environmental controls, in a highly protected ecosystem.
One of the most important productive revolutions that Chile has experienced over the past two decades has been the development of aquaculture. This has come to occupy a leading role in the national economy, with high employment levels. Chile has established itself as one of the leading producers and exporters worldwide.
