Photographer Scott Dusek has been passionate about food his whole life. His early work was a one-man-show with Scott designing, cooking, and styling everything himself. It was a lot more preparation than photography but those early days continue to be a major influence on his style.
Scott has worked with many talented chefs and restaurateurs since then. He takes pictures from a storyteller’s perspective. Capturing the preparation and setting of a dish are as important to him as a great image of the final result.
“I love a dish that tells a story. Food offers such an array of colors and textures, the creative possibilities are endless. My shoots are always collaborations and I learn a lot about the people I work with. Friendships form easily on set that’s probably the best part of my job. Well… that, and gobbling up the food when we’re done!”
