Barilla Presents: Bayou to the Bay Finalists

Over the past couple weeks, more than 200 chefs submitted dishes showing off their best take on southern-inspired cooking that also incorporated Barilla pasta. Some shone for their creativity, others for the techniques and flavor combos on display, and some just looked plain ‘ol delicious.

After a few days of deliberation, we’re now ready to share the Top 10 finalists for this contest. Congratulations to these chefs, and thank you to ALL of the chefs who participated in the competition. Now stay tuned until Monday, May 7th, when we announce the winner!

Country Crab Mac and Cheese with Butter Poached Bay Shrimp brings creamy low country bacon gravy to the mix blending fresh picked crab, some crab boil seasoning, pan toasted fresh corn off the cob and a touch of heat from Serrano peppers; this mixture becomes the roux for the mac and cheese sauce. Barilla large pasta shells are dressed with the creamy mixture and three kinds of cheeses then topped with crunchy panko crumbs and parmesan cheese.
