Congratulations to the winners of the winners of the Cabot Creamery Recipe Contest! We challenged 50 incredible chefs to create original dishes showcasing Cabot Creamery’s Vermont Sharp Cheddar Cheese for the chance to win a premium stay at The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vermont for an incredible ski/board vacation! We received so many amazing entries, but these chefs really blew our judges away! Scroll below to see who won the Grand Prize ski trip and which 5 chefs are our lucky runners up!

Vermont Sharp Cheddar Tostada with Mexican Style Picadillo
Mexican Style Picadillo Tostada w/ Cheese Crema, Shredded Cheddar, Avocado, Pickled Red Onions, Radishes, Salsa Roja & Sour Cream. Garnish with a torched Lime. I used the cheese 3 ways. To make the tortilla, the crema and topped with more shredded cheddar cheese

Cheddar Dessert Flight
Miso Caramel Cheddar Popcorn: shredded Vermont Sharp is sprinkled onto the miso caramel coated popcorn and then baked to crunchy perfection.
Apple Tartlet with a Cheddar Frico Crust: shredded Vermont Sharp is mixed with a bit of flour and then baked into fricos that are shaped into delicate dessert cups that are filled with an apple compote, crème fraiche and a drizzle of caramel.
Glazed Apple Cheddar Donut with Crispy Cheddar Crumbs: shredded Vermont Sharp is mixed into the donut batter. The cheese is also baked into a frico, crushed and the crispy cheese crumbs are the donut topping.

Roasted Apple and Cheddar Crostata
“I wanted to highlight Cabot Creamery’s Vermont Sharp Cheddar in a rustic, comforting way that balances sweet and savory. I folded shredded cheddar directly into my pie dough for extra flavor and a beautifully golden, crisp crust. The filling layers caramelized onions, a touch of Dijon mustard, and more Cabot cheddar, topped with thinly sliced apples and a sprinkle of thyme. It’s simple, seasonal, and showcases the bold, tangy character of Cabot’s cheddar in every bite.”

Sweet Potato & Cheddar Galette with Bacon
Thinly sliced sweet potatoes over a layer of sliced cheddar cheese, on a crispy dough. Topped with more shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, shallots and green onions and drizzled with chipotle honey.

Brioche Con Gelato
White Cheddar & Bacon Gelato on Honey Corn Milk Brioche Bun. I wanted to do a twist on one of my favorite Italian treats. Cabot white cheddar was melted into the ice cream base, with less sugar than a normal gelato and a touch of sea salt. When the gelato was spun, additional cheese was grated in during the process and finished with bacon. House made bun with made with honey, corn milk and the richness of egg yolks as well as Cabot butter. When folding the dough, more shredded Cabot White Cheddar was added.
The result was a delicious snack balancing the sweet and savory line.

Cheddar Thumbprint Cookies
Vermont Sharp Cheddar Thumbprint Cookies. Inspired by the timeless duo of cheddar and apple, these cookies balance sweet and savory in a fun reimagined bite. A rich, buttery shortbread base made with Cabot Creamery Vermont Sharp Cheddar, almonds, cornmeal, white pepper, and nutmeg is complemented by a sweet dollop of cider thyme jelly. Baked on a bed of shredded cheddar, each cookie develops a golden lace of crisp cheese adding an addicting crunch to each bite.
