Greetings Chef! If you are based in the US or any US Territories: Create one of the twelve global guac recipes and pair it with an original dish to enter the Global Guac Contest from Avocados From Mexico.
The grand prize includes a trip to Mexico and more! Do you have what it takes to win?
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- Pick a Global Guac. Head to the Global Guac website or look at the list at the bottom of this page and pick your favorite of the twelve recipes.
- Recreate your chosen Global Guac and pair it with an original dish creation. Check out the videos from Chef Mikel Anthony below for pairing inspiration!
- Post a photo and description of your Global Guac + dish pairing entry to Instagram between June 30th – July 27th use the hashtag #afmglobalguaccontest
- The judges will review all the entries and announce winners (including the sweepstakes winner) on or around August 3rd The judges will be looking at the following criteria:
- Taste appeal of the original dish
- Pairing concept
- Featuring Guac prominently
- Accuracy of “Global Guac” component recreation
- Plating/presentation/quality of image submitted

CONTEST PRIZES
One Grand Prize Winner will receive :
- Trip to Mexico from November 29 – December 3, 2021
- All travel, accommodations, flights, and meals will be included
- This year’s VIP tour takes us to Michoacán, where we’ll explore the avocado groves, nurseries, and production facilities, followed by a culinary immersion in Mexico City.
- We will be joined by James Beard Award-Winning celebrity chef Pati Jinich, host of the PBS show Pati’s Mexican Table, author of numerous cookbooks, and a Mexico City native.
