What is International Sous Vide Day?

International Sous Vide Day, celebrated every year on January 26th, marks the birthday of Dr. Bruno Goussault, the “Father of Sous Vide.” He formalized the Sous Vide technique while studying ways to prepare a more tender roast beef.

Today, as the chief scientist at Cuisine Solutions, Dr. Goussault continues to refine this revolutionary water bath cooking method—and share his knowledge with world-renowned and up-and-coming chefs alike. He founded the Culinary Research & Education Academy (CREA), where he has taught more than 80 percent of chefs with three Michelin stars, including Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, Yannick Alléno, Joël Robuchon, and Anne-Sophie Pic, as well as the next generation of chefs.

What festivities will occur?

On January 26th, people will gather to celebrate around the globe, with special events occurring in Washington, D.C., Dubai, Paris, and Thailand. The Chef’s Roll team will be in D.C. to cover the celebration and share content with you.

Even if you can’t make it, you can still post on January 26th using #ILoveSousVide and interact with other people using the hashtag!
