Western Food Expo – Rapid Fire Challenge
The 2016 Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo will feature a new competition this year – the Rapid Fire Challenge: Appetizer Edition. The competition takes place in addition to 30+ complimentary seminars and culinary demonstrations that are part of the event’s Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum education program.
For the event, chefs from the southern California area were invited to submit their best appetizer featuring a local ingredients –bread, meat, cheeses, spices or whatever their secret ingredient is– and three finalists were chosen to compete on stage at the event for the chance to win $1,000 and the title of champion. The face-off will take place Sunday, August 28 on the Western Food Expo Culinary Demonstration Theater Stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
