Official Rules – Metro’s Master of Takeout Contest

The METRO’S MASTER OF TAKEOUT CONTEST (“Contest”) is open to legal residents of the 50 United States (“US”), Puerto Rico, and District of Columbia, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age (19 or older in US states AL and NE) at the time of Entry.  Employees of Chef’s Roll, Inc. (“Sponsor”), Metro Foodservice and other providers of the Prizes (collectively the “Prize Providers”) and each of their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate families and household members are not eligible to enter or win.  For purposes of this Contest, “immediate families” means parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, and siblings.

You are required to register using the form at and agree to these terms and conditions. Registration will be open until 11:59pm PDT August 9, 2020. 3 people will be chosen to compete as Finalists in Contest and receive a free To-Go Makeover, containing products from Metro. Not all who register will be chosen to compete. Selection preference will be given to chefs with a compelling answer to the question asked during registration: “Why do you want to be one of the contest finalists — and receive a To-Go Makeover from Metro?”

  1. TO ENTER:

To enter the Contest, Finalists will set up all the Metro Foodservice equipment that was sent to them and incorporate it into their operation. They will then be required to film a short video of themselves walking through and showing off their to-go operation while describing how Metro has helped them to master takeout. The video must be sent to Chef’s Roll by 11:59PM PDT on September 13, 2020. Directions for sending video to be provided. That video will constitute an Entry.  Only one Entry per person. Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incompletely received, or incomplete, for any reason, will not be eligible and are not the responsibility of the Sponsor.  Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt.  All Entries become the property of Sponsor.  In the event of a dispute over the identity of a potential winner, the winning Entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the Facebook account, Instagram account, or e-mail address first used to submit at the time of Entry, and any potential winner may be required to provide evidence sufficient to show that he/she is the authorized account holder of that e-mail address.

  1. PRIZES:

One competitor will win the Grand Prize Package. The Grand Prize Package contains the following:
  • Custom Knife from NORA Knives – Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $250
  • Chef’s Roll Swag Pack – Pack of 20+ miscellaneous Chef’s Roll gifts and gear for chef to share with team – ARV: $300
  • Chef’s Roll takeover feature – Winner to be featured on the Chef’s Roll Instagram as part of a “takeover.” Exact components to be worked out based on content that Chef can provide, but an example could be Chef’s Roll posting 3 images and 1 video created by Winner to main feed, as well as sharing several pieces of “Story” content developed by Winner. – ARV $1000

The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible Entries received. The Prize is non-assignable, nontransferable, and not redeemable in cash. There are no prize substitutions, except that Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, substitute a prize of equal or greater value for a Prize. All Prizes will be awarded. Incidental expenses and all other costs and expenses which are not specifically listed as part of a Prize in these Official Rules and which may be associated with the award, acceptance, receipt, and use of all or any portion of the awarded Prize are solely the responsibility of the respective Prize Winners. All federal, state, and local taxes associated with the receipt or use of any Prize are solely the responsibility of the Winner.

At the end of the entry period, Chef’s Roll will post the Entry videos from all 3 competitors to and provide a mechanism for the public to vote on who they believe to be the “Master of Takeout.” This voting period will close at 11:59pm PDT on September 20. Whichever entry receives the most public votes will become the Winner.

On September 21, 2020 the winners of the Prize packages will be announced (each a “Winner”) by being posted on the Chef’s Roll website and Instagram account.

If a Winner does not respond within forty-eight (48) hours of the date appearing on the prize notification, or fails to comply with the instructions contained in the prize notification within that time period, Sponsor reserves the right to choose an alternate Winner based on the criteria described above.  Return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate Winner.  Upon the request of the Sponsor, the potential Winner may be required to return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Prize Acceptance Form, and IRS W-9 form.  If a potential Winner fails to comply with these Official Rules, that potential Winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected based on the criteria described above.
