Vanessa Lauren was a born foodie, which got her first in the kitchen at the very early age of 5. Eager to learn she spent much time eating through her childhood where she always been attracted to exotic foods, this opened a world of travel and exploration. She then further pursued her passion by studying Nutrition and Culinary Arts at Bastyr University where she specialized in biochemistry, anatomy, and botany, giving her a abstract perspective on cooking for others and how to use food as medicine. Using her unique education she started her private chef company in Los Angeles, Healing Chefs (2010), where she specialized in creating customized meal plans for her clients giving them a couture culinary experience. Through her website and social media she was discovered for ABC's culinary showcase The Taste (2014), where she finished as a semifinalist and met Celebrity Chef, Ludo Lefebvre. Chef Ludo became her mentor, where she honed her culinary skills at Trois Mec and Petit Trois (2014-2015). This was the opening of a whole new world where she had the opportunity to work with several other amazing Los Angeles chefs including Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, Tim Carrey, and Ben Ford. She then helped Marcel Vigneron, as his executive sous chef, with opening his brick and mortar, Wolf (2016). In addition to working with amazing chefs, Vanessa has participated in several special events including cooking dinner at the James Beard House, Sundance Film Festival, Dinner Lab, and Summit at Sea. Vanessa Lauren has some big new projects coming up this year including a traveling sustainable tasting experience called the Secret Garden. She is also beginning a new community project called Save the Seeds which will promote building new seed banks. She encourages all types of collaboration, and hopes to meet many new chefs and foodies alike using Chefs Roll!!
