American Liver Foundation: Pacific Coast Flavors Gala

September 13, 2015 – The American Liver Foundation strives to educate more people about liver disease and to serve as a resource for liver health information. Every year, the Pacific Coast and Hawaii Division of the American Liver Foundation helps spread the word by hosting a spectacularly educational and extravagant night called Flavors of San Diego.  The foundation reaches for the corroborative support of the Pacific Coast community, with over 30 of Southern California’s most prominent Chefs, Sommeliers, and Wineries who donate their resources to making it one of the most anticipated food events in September.

Held at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego, CA and home to 2015 James Beard Award semi-finalist William Bradley of Addison and Flavors of San Diego participant Chef Danilo “DJ” Tangalin of JRDN, the 12th Annual Flavors of San Diego boast more than 20 restaurant-themed tables and hosted 230 attendees.  Among the attendees were Flavors Honoree Doctor Rohit Loomba, M.D., MHSc, Flavors Chef of the Decade Kurt Metzger of Kitchen 4140, Flavors Chef Chair Chad Kilgore of Pfizer La Jolla and Cheffin’ Around, Pacific Coast and Hawaii Division Executive Director Michele DeMotto, and families touched by liver disease, fellow doctors, and food & beverage enthusiasts.

Money raised through ticket sales, silent and live auctions, and charitable donations will be used towards liver research and spreading education on liver disease and liver health information.
