Established in 2014, the Southern California Restaurant Design Group has built a solid reputation as a premier design firm specializing in hospitality projects, both internationally and in the United States. From independent restaurants and multiple location chains, to corporate dining facilities and commercial kitchens, the group delivers a comprehensive scope of work covering client needs in all sectors of the food service industry.
With offices in San Diego, Los Angeles, Houston and two international offices in Beirut and Dubai, SCRDG is a division of the IFE Group. Founded by Mike Benson in 2000, IFE has served the food service industry for over 15 years. The groups other divisions include IFE Marketing, which provides restaurant consulting and professional commercial kitchen services to the Federal Government, and IFE Distribution – a full service program for non-federal, institutional, and commercial buyers.
As president and owner Mr. Benson’s success is based on over twenty years experience in the product design manufacturing and restaurant food service equipment industries. Before launching IFE, he managed numerous transport operations, specializing in the development and expedition of freight logistic models. This experience is utilized at IFE, where he teaches the sales staff to coordinate realistic, efficient and economical customer deliveries.
Offering cutting edge solutions and full turnkey services, including design concepts, equipment specification, procurement and installation services, the SCRDG team has successfully completed projects for major restaurants and hospitality collectives including Button Mash in Silver Lake, 9021PHO in Beverly Hills, Soul in Hollywood, Hollywood Burger in Los Angeles, and the elite Venice-based Gjelina Group.

A complete source for all food service design, consulting, procurement, coordination, and installation needs, SCRDG’s operations team offers a complete range of integrated services, including Auto CAD generated drawings, computerized cost models and budget reviews. SCRDG also manufactures custom metal fixtures, and coordinates all food service related kitchen and interior building construction.
This comprehensive array of services, coupled with thorough attention to project management and coordination, has guided the company through a history of high quality, on-time and on-budget project completions.
