Barilla Presents Bayou to the Bay Southern Pasta Contest

Calling all US-based chefs and cooks! We have teamed up with Barilla to give you the chance to take your career to the next level by attending the Barilla Modern Casual trip to John Folse’s White Oak Plantation in Baton Rouge, June 4-8th, 2018. The grand prize winner will also receive a custom Jende knife roll and a Chef’s Roll cap. The grand prize is worth $2750. Do we have your interest yet?
To win, you’re going to have to show us your best example of Southern-inspired cooking that incorporates pasta, drawing on influences of cooking styles from the Louisiana Bayou to the Chesapeake Bay. If you’re selected to compete, you’ll receive a box of a few Barilla pasta varieties to aid you in your creation


We’ll announce the Top 10 finalists on Friday, May 4th, and the Grand Prize winner on Monday, May 7th! Everyone who wins a spot in the Top 10 will be shipped a copy of the Encyclopedia of Cajun & Creole Cuisine by John Folse. If you make it into the Top 10, you’ll also get your dish shared and credited on the Chef’s Roll Instagram page, so make sure to include your Instagram handle when submitting.
If you don’t win the Grand Prize, you’ll still be in the running for the People’s Choice Prize: a Chef’s Roll X Tilit prize pack, featuring a Tilit backpack and an assortment of Chef’s Roll gear, including a Chef’s Roll Cap, a Chef Spoon, and an assortment of Chef’s Roll Sharpies and stickers.
To have a chance at becoming the people’s champion, you can send all of your friends, family, and followers to vote for your entry in our submission gallery. The entry with the most votes by the end of the day on Sunday, April 29th, will win the prize! If the entry with the most votes is also selected as Grand Prize winner, the People’s Choice award will go to the entry with the second-most votes. You can vote once per Facebook user per day.
