We are proud to partner with Butter of Europe to present the “Unlock the Secrets of European Butter” contest.

 

Chefs, we want to see you take a classic French dish and make it your own by drawing from your culinary heritage and techniques that inspire you. Be sure to make butter the star of the dish!

 

The contest, open to US-based chefs, will have 3 categories in which to enter: SAVORY, PASTRY, and BAKERY. A grand prize winner in each category will get flown to San Diego to participate in the Anti-Convention 2020 and a paring knife from Meglio Knives. Additionally, there will also be online voting, in which the most popular dish entries judged by the community will win the People’s Choice Prize.

 

Once you’ve created your unique take on a savory French butter dish, pastry, or bakery item– snap a high-quality photo and submit your dish and the description online. Then, don’t forget to share it on a public Instagram account with the hashtag #SecretsOfButterContest

3. The 6 finalists will be announced October 11th.
4. The 3 Grand Prize Winners and 5 People’s Choice Winner will be announced October 18th!

The grand prize is an all-expenses-paid trip to The Anti-Convention 2020, including admission, hotel, and airfare! It’s going to be the CAN’T MISS event of the culinary world, featuring the best chefs and culinary pioneers in the world speaking and cooking, in an environment unlike any other. Each of the 3 winners will get to attend our second annual convention in San Diego where they will be featured at #TheAntiConvention in a butter activation! In addition to this amazing trip, you’ll also receive an epic paring knife from Meglio Knives!

PEOPLE’S CHOICE PRIZES

After submitting your dish, it will be publicly viewable in the gallery, where people can vote on it. You’ll also be given a custom link to share with your friends, fans, and family that you can share when you post your dish photo on Instagram. The five entries that ultimately receives the most votes (not including Grand Prize Winners) will receive a collection of Chef’s Roll swag!

In each of the 3 categories – Savory, Pastry, and Bakery – there will be 2 finalists. All 6 finalists will be asked to share their recipes so they may be recreated in the Chef’s Roll Test Kitchen and featured on Chef’s Roll. From these 6 finalist dishes, our judges will decide which of the 2 finalists will become the Grand Prize Winner in each category after tasting the re-created dishes.
