About

“Have the courage to wander into your own ignorance.” This is a quote I had read the other day in the forward of a very good cookbook. The feeling of “not knowing” is something the has fueled many belief systems around the world, yet not understanding something, and having the tenacity to do something without precise instruction is a great source of creativity. We are all afraid of the unknown, but it seems that if we convert that fear into intrigue, then fear evolves into innovation.Wild foraged flowers

I was asked the other day along with the people I have been brainstorming and collaborating with, to provide a word that inspires and evokes positive emotion. I came into this looking for a word that was bright shiny and inspirational, but most of the time that's not who we are. The word that just oddly seems to be all over me at this certain point in time seemed just perfect. Failure.

My favorite chefs talk about failure as the highest accolade they could ever receive. You can work to create something amazing, but if you are not failing then your sights are not set high enough. The goal is to try and achieve the unachievable and what you do along the way will be amazing, as long as there is no fear of failure. So, this is what we are doing now. Every day in what I guess is my new job, although it feels nothing like a job, we come up with crazy outrageous ideas and go after them.

The food allows us to be creative and put people who might not otherwise talk to each other in the same room. The food breaks down any barriers and preconceptions. With organic food comes organic conversation and goosebumps alight the skin of those involved as we discuss how to create and spread the edible passions amongst the rest of the world. I want people to eat at home again, then talk with their friends and family about the hard and gritty things. I want people to enjoy delicious food. So we hav started doing this for ourselves by creating a comunity that supports each others endeavors as well laughs, argues, and smiles with each other. Sometimes we fail to do this in the right way, but we are always trying and learning. We have stumbled onto something great and this group of eccentric talented misfits will never stop.
