There is no doubt that I have always had a passion for food. As a child I had a great imagination, creating atypical snacks for myself such as gourmet salads, while other children I knew grabbed candy bars and chips. My fondness for food continued to grow as I excelled in cooking for my family and friends at home. Then, in high school I began working in the restaurant industry. Although I have not earned a formal culinary education, I have earned my way into the kitchen world and gained invaluable experience. My career thus far has involved working in a variety of kitchens. In high school I started as a dishwasher, as so many chefs have done, and worked my way up to numerous positions—garde mangé, grilling, sautéing, and sous chef. I have also gained experience in catering and private dining. However, my insatiable desire to learn new ideas and new techniques motivates me to keep furthering my career. I aspire to advance my culinary skills and one day become a renowned, respected chef in the culinary world.
