Chef’s Roll threw another Beefsteak, on Monday October 28, 2019 at San Diego’s hottest new venue: Julep. An all you can hold beef & beer event that featured 6 different cuts of prime Brandt Beef sponsored by One World Beef. All meat was cooked via live fire thanks to KUDU Grills and Jealous Devil charcoal. And since we always do things a little different, we had one plant-based dish featuring MIC Food plantains – because beef + plantains = EPIC pairing! 10 Barrel Brewing Co once again generously provided the brews and Snake Oil Cocktail company crafted cocktails. The night ended in an Underberg toast to settle the stomach after all that beef!

Featuring Chef James Montejano from Huntress, Chef Keoni Simmons from Jamul Casino, Chef Hanis Cavin from The Pioneer, Chefs Joshua Meyer & Greg Talamantes from Starlite, Chef Ivan Munoz from Moonshine Flats, Chef Moira Hill from Campfire and Chef DJ Tangalin from Gaya Gaya

Thank you to all of our cooking chefs, guests and sponsors for making it one epic Beefsteak!

Famed photographer Josue Castro was also on hand to take his famous B&W portraits. A butchery contest sponsored by Brandt Beef and True Cooks saw Chef Moira Hill take home the crown after beating 3 other chefs in breaking down half a 103 Prime packing house rib into tomahawks, the competition was judged by Brandt Beef’s very own Bob “The Butcher”.

Portraits by Josue Castro coming soon!
